Job Description

  • * Engineering graduate with 2+ years experience
    * Experience in Telecom Network Operation Centre supporting layer 1 and 2 operations
    * Experience on DWDM, Carrier Ethernet Products from multiple vendors and knowledge of different EMS & NMS tools
    * Transmission Network Monitoring System; standard troubleshooting activities that are performed at transmission nodes
    * Knowledge on functionality of transmission media test equipment (Optical light meter, power meter, Optical Time Domain Reflectometer - OTDR)
    * Immediate fault isolation and resolution capability. 
    * Alarm correlation and impact analysis, Root Cause Analysis and recommended action to resolve network issues.
    * Knowledge of performance and traffic analysis methodologies & tools
    * Complete knowledge of architecture and functioning of the specific network elements
    * Complete knowledge of overall network operations, network inventory and activity flows
    * Knowledge of all relevant protocols handled by specific network elements
    * Good understanding of the network elements to be monitored.

Minimum qualification & experience

  • Graduate with 2-5 years of experience

Other knowledge/skills

  • Demonstration of problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience in providing technical support in fast paced, high availability, 24X7 environments.
  • Knowledge of network, operation systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining, administering, upgrading, and troubleshooting network tools and equipment
  • Assisting with and implementing installations as required for new and existing customer and internal projects inclusive of - terminations, testing and labelling of most common transmission mediums, hardware installations etc.
  • Ensure SLA are achieved and work proactively to maintain the same.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments for networks, Servers, applications, and operating systems
  • Conduct network security audits and scanning on a predetermined basis.
  • Compile and track vulnerabilities over time for metrics purposes.
  • Timely upgradation of all the tools used and their related documents like SOPs etc.
