Job Family Descriptor

Overall Role Purpose:
To deliver best in class Transmission Technical Support for DWDM Core and Customer links on multi-vendor transmission networks across Global Foot Print. This role will carry out Core Network/ Customer Circuit Configuration, Testing & Migrations on SDH/ SONET/ DWDM/ OTN network environment, scheduling, booking planned outages and carrying out of network & customer change activities, network upgrades & re-routes and requires numerous coordination with multiple internal and external teams. 

Experience Level:
MACD Engineer - Minimum 4 years’ experience in telecommunications or large enterprise systems supporting SDH/ SONET/ DWDM/ OTN environment on with at least 2 years dedicated experience on DWDM networks

Transmission Platforms: 

• Infinera DTN, DTN-X, XT-3300, XT-3600
• Ciena 6500, 5400
• Salesforce, SAP

Key Requirements:

• Good knowledge on Provisioning in SDH/SONET/DWDM/OTN Transport Network
• Should have previous experience in NOC/ Provisioning & Testing experience
• Capacity augmentation
• Support small scale green field deployment
• Support onsite SME’s for large scale green field deployment
• Software upgrades
• Coordination with Other Licensed Operators for Planned Outages / Migrations
• Basic knowledge on IP data network
• Experience in NMS/EMS applications
• Experience in OSS & TMN Environment
• Experience in SONET environment is a definite plus
• Coordination with Planning and Field Support teams for the delivery of SDH/SONET/DWDM/OTN Core bandwidths
• Ability to work unsupervised, be a team player under pressure and should be delivering best in class service in line with the organization standards
• Consultation and support to wider teams to support their activities where necessary
• Able to adapt quickly to new systems, technologies and processes
• Should be able to write small scripts/ macros to improve the efficiency
• Should have strong MS Office experience / knowledge
• Should have excellent communication skills in English – Verbal & Oral

Qualifications: B.E. / B. Tech in Electronics and Communications or Equivalent qualification
