RAN NOC SME-Fixed Wireless Access (RAN Integration -Ericsson)

Job Summary:

The Fixed Wireless site expansion program expands the coverage and uplift wholesale speeds available on the fixed wireless network. This fixed wireless access expansion program will involve upgrading and configuring various network elements across Transmission, RAN & RF.
This position involves the coordination and execution of migration, integration, and optimization activities for Fixed Wireless Access Network elements such as Mini-links, Basebands, NPU’s, RRU’s, Cisco ASR, Cisco NCS540 etc.
 

Roles & Responsibility:

Ericsson RAN:

•    Ericsson 4G/5G BB 66xx/RP 66xx node integration & Troubleshooting

•    Ericsson eNB/gNB upgrade and integration, which covers Software Upgrades, Cell configuration, neighbors list preparation etc.

•    Migration of Customers from existing eNB to temporary setup, and migration of customers from temporary setup to upgraded eNB/gNB setup, including Pre-Post checks.

•    Coordinating with the field team for VSWR Test, Optics Test and RF Validation testing

•    4G & 5G Throughput testing.

•    Decommissioning of temporary setup.

•    Ericsson RRU / AIR

•    Support to Field Force for External Alarms and Acceptance Test, RETs setup, call tests, and calibration.

•    Need to Perform Configuration/Performance and fault management. 

•    Commissioning file and ret report delivery to Field Force for HOP information.

•    Take the necessary preventive and corrective measures to ensure agreed service availability after planned works. Perform second-level troubleshooting processes, ensuring high quality and short service restoring time for RAN elements.

•    Providing resource management support Implementing process and technology improvements to increase operational and organizational efficiency. 

Technical Skills

Mandatory skills:

•    RAN - Ericisson BB 6630,BB 6631,BB 6648 , RP6651 Series

•    eNB/gNB integration, troubleshooting and Scripting

•    Ericsson MO structure

•    ENM

Desirable skills:

•    Traffic Migration 

•    RF Optimization,

•    Mircowave - Ericsson Mini link

•    EPS

•    Unix

•    JSON scripting

Tools & Systems Knowledge:

•    Ericsson ENM, BMC Remedy, CPNR – Cisco Prime Network Registrar, MASA- Cisco License Generator

•    WinFiol/Secure CRT, Appian, CNC - Cisco Crosswork Network Controller, NGDM

•    ELIS / CORA, IPACT, EPNM – Cisco Evolved Programmable Network Manager, TSI sharepoint folder.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

•    Performing remote configuration expansions as well as new site integrations on 4G & 5G Ericsson sites 

•    Performing site parameter modifications 

•    Defining external alarms for newly  integrated sites, alarm checks, and troubleshooting 

•    Unlocking sites for final integration. Verifying test call results, checking life traffic on site 

•    Verifying functionality of transmission to site and troubleshooting if required. Transmission verifying and testing on enodeB/GnodeB end via Ericsson ENM as well as parameters checks with transmission and core team

•    Experience /knowledge of the below tool.

•    Large Wireless Router (Cisco) and Small Wireless Router (Cisco) integration, migration, and configuration  

•    Ericsson Mini-Link chassis or Network Processor Unit (NPU) swap or migration

•    Base Band Port Expansion from 1Gig to 10Gig.

•    Transmission Node link upgrades, with multiple configurations.

•    Rapid Augmentation Tactics (RAT) and Pre-Post Checks, including Mode3 scan

•    Upgrades completed as per program schedules, to the committed volumes and expectation of tight timeframes.

•    Ensure network is uplifted to new hardware & firmware versions.

•    Coordinate pre-configuration, site integration, migration activities and review site design.

•    Coordinate pre/post activity end user health checks, stakeholder communication and Post Implementation Review.

Must have technical/professional qualifications:

•    Minimum of 10+ years relevant experience in Telecommunications Engineering with experience in a managerial/supervisor Knowledge

•    Graduation in Telecommunications/ Electronics

•    Proficient in MS Office Suite 

•    Proficient in reading, writing & speaking of English Language

Working Hours:

•    These might differ based on customer requirements and shift pattern.
•    24x7 environment (Majorly Australian Shift timing – starts between 1:30 AM to 3:30 AM)
