a. Extensive knowledge and working experience on the SDH/ SONET, DWDM, MICROWAVE, PSTN and DSL deliveries.
b. Resilience and the ability to work under pressure, and to pressing deadlines / SLAs.
c. Project management skills in handling multiple projects.
d. Experience in handling critical Planned Events & Migrations.
e. Extensive hands-on Experience in Provisioning & Testing of Circuits right from 64Kbps, X*64Kbps, DS3, 1.5Mbps, 2Mbps, VC3, STM-1, STM-4, STM-16, STM-64 over SDH/SONET/DWDM platforms.
f. Good knowledge and experience on coordination with third party suppliers like Openreach, Virgin Media
g. Exposure to ECI, Marconi, Ciena and Nortel Transmission Equipments
h. In-depth understanding of telecom standards & protocols
i. Perform escalation management, wherever necessary and in case project is in jeopardy
j. Effectively applies telecom methodology and enforces performance standards
k. Monitoring the Project to meet the committed Timelines from client
l. Conduct a kick-off/Handover meeting with the design & all relevant stakeholder team
m. Exposure to International client facing functions
n. Knowledge on inventory tools like Cramer, MORI, COPS, COMS, Clarify, Remedy, CPS, TC10 & OMARS
o. Strong verbal and written communication skills
p. Able to identify problems and significantly improve, change or adapt existing methods and techniques

Broad outline of the Role

Leads a team through expertise in most or all areas within Platform Planning and Design. Tactical role which provides a marked contribution to defining the direction of new products, processes, standards or operational plans based upon business strategy, with a significant mid term impact on business unit overall results. May lead important projects that require providing experienced project team members with instruction, guidance and advice in all aspects of the project to ensure delivery of quality outcomes. Identifies problems and significantly improves, changes or adapts existing methods and techniques.Focus is on implementation and control rather than policy and strategy development. Capable of identifying key issues and priorities and focusing on these to deliver required results with minimal direction and supervision.Able to identify problems and significantly improve, change or adapt existing methods and techniques. Education: Engineer/ME/ MTech Experience: 8-12 years, experience in network engineering required
