Context
The Media Delivery PMO is responsible for the delivery of the Media suite of services within Tata Communications.
The role of the Principal Programme Manager is to plan, execute, and deliver projects/Programmes according to the defined time, cost and quality. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects/programmes as part of a wider programme of work. The Principal Programme Manager will also help define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
This role demands experience in large scale IT and media/broadcast applications and infrastructure delivery within a highly dynamic environment. It also requires experience of media programmes within a cloud environment.
Major Responsibilities
Execute the project, subproject or programme according to the agreed scope, according to the contractual commitments and against the budget
Develop detailed project/programme plans and associated communications documents.
Effectively communicate project/programme expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
Identify the resources needed to achieve project goals and obtain agreement in the context of the wider programme.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project/programme team.
Identify and manage project dependencies and the critical path.
Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using MSP
Track project milestones and deliverables.
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
Own the overall responsibility for delivery and service acceptance by the customer
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
Facilitate lessons learned workshops and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Gain and sustain customer confidence in delivery through strong communication clear guidance on project progress
Drive team to achieve delivery of project benefits – continuously seek improved ways of achieving the business outcome

Background
- Engineering/IT degree with at least 5 years of similar experience
- Ideally project management certification (PMP, Prince2 or APM)
- Possess experience in dealing with overseas projects through a geographically dispersed team
