Oversee and drive back office provisioning of service delivery including onnet feasibility, access networks and customer order provisioning. Drive system and process improvement projects to ensure timely and cost effective provisioning of orders in ILD, NLD and MAN networks. Ensure availability of inventory of network systems and bandwidth in provisioning on networks. Analyze need for capacity augmentation/ optimization to address capacity crunch in networks. Plans, organizes and directs all operations with respect to installation support, network service and major moves. Identify and lead implementation for any new network updates. Responsible for the configuration of telecom infrastructure and/or network components to meet design specifications. Manage and monitor planning and delivery of orders in terms of configuration management. Guide and monitor team to design the network to ensure the customer connectivity in agreed time and supervise hand over to project implementation team. Drive change management initiatives, make change requests and monitor change processes and IT initiatives within to ensure delivering a tested active service layer to the customer on time at optimal costs to the organization and drive continuous improvement. Diagnoses, troubleshoots and resolves problems, and takes corrective action when necessary. Provides technical expertise, business planning and workflow management for ensuring smooth integration of network and system solutions/network improvement. Ensures that all installation functions are performed in a timely fashion to meet specifications.

Level Descriptor

Handle the allocation of orders among teams. Provide guidelines for processing of orders. Handle major escalations. Conduct meetings with service assurance to discuss provisioning issues. Participate in meetings with other cross-functional teams (including engineering, product, configuration teams, field operations) around new solutions and requirements. Conduct weekly review meetings with back end teams. Participate in all team meetings. Provide inputs around automation opportunities. May be an individual contributor or may lead a team through application of deep knowledge of one job area or broad knowledge of several job areas within Provisioning and Configuration Management. Operational role, responsible for setting objectives and delivering results that have a significant impact within the context of a wider operational area. Identifies problems and updates or modifies working methods in own role without the benefit of defined procedures. May Provide first level of supervisory management to a work team that includes professional roles. May also supervise technical and administrative staff. Self-sufficient, capable of identifying key issues and priorities and focusing on these to deliver required results with minimal direction and supervision. Work-group/team focus. Education: BE (MBA) Diploma - BE Equivalent Experience: 4-8 years

Purpose - Broad objective of the role

Provisioning experience in the Core Transmission Network.

Day-to-day activity involves checking the daily provisioning tasks. Perform what is required: addition, modification, relocations and decommission scenarios based on the scope of work in the Engineering orders

Ability to perform manual and automated configurations with all required details

Ability to identify network failures, determining source and cause of provisioning failures and recommending course of action.

Excellent troubleshooting skills and interpreting transmission alarms.

Ability to liaise with stakeholders, operations center and the planners with on-going projects in the Core transmission provisioning space.

Managing escalations within the team and communications to stakeholders

Available for night shift change request implementation.

Delivering technical knowledge and support to the engineering team and own peers to enable the completion of complex orders.

A thorough understanding of transmission activation; IP CORE router activation; carrier ethernet transmission, aggregator activation, DWDM and legacy networks PDH, SDH

Minimum qualification & experience

Mandatory skills

Be experienced with DSLAM activities including migration with NBN and Voice switch activation.

Familiarity on Order monitoring and design systems such as Helix. Be able to understand the task workflow and interpretation of drawings/schematics.

Experience in working on various Vendor platforms, Transmission systems and Network management system applications such as 5620SAM, Huawei U2000, Cisco EPM, Alcatel Lucent SDH RM, NFM-T, NMS, Ciena site manager and TeMIP

Knowledge in various transmission equipment Huawei OSN1800, CX600, Lucent DACS, Alcatel 7750, 7705, 7210, 1830, PSS32, 36 and Cisco ASR and Legacy systems such Nortel 4100, 4150, 4200, 4500, HDX 6500, Marconi MD202, MSH86, Fujitsu FLM family, FLX and DCME 240, 360.

Must have experience of IP Access Products such as CISCO NCS540, ASR903

Must Have Experience

Must have experience of Access Aggregators such Cisco ASR, Juniper and Huawei

Must have experience in Routing and Switching protocols and technologies such as MPLS, L2/L2 VPN, BGP, OSPF, Static Routing, IPV4/IPv6, Throughput Testing etc

3+ Years of experience in telecom service delivery in Fixed domain including 2+ years of provisioning exposure

Excellent understanding of complex designs and experienced in identifying design/fulfilment issues together with developing suitable workarounds.

Can do attitude, Self-driven with less supervision, excellent time management & multi-tasking. Effective written and verbal communication. Adaptable to flexible time.

Understanding of transmission systems.
