Sr Manager - Product & Network Design, Developement & Implementation (Systems & Service Engineering)

Broad outline of the Role

• The role will primarily involve designing and implementing a variety of database architectures, including graph, document-based, and relational databases, tailored to specific use cases. Additionally, the successful candidate will be working on projects involving ONAP and integrating ONAP with external applications (e.g. SLACK, PCE, AI/ML platform, etc...), focusing on seamless data flow and robust authentication mechanisms. This role entails creating advanced automation and orchestration solutions. This role demands a blend of traditional software engineering acumen, alongside advanced skills in data engineering, networking, automation and system integration.
  The candidate is expected to:
  • Embrace the role as the ultimate responsible party and senior subject matter expert for the related technologies and be a technical lead of highly technical and talented engineers
  • Full stack software-developer and architect- understanding and appreciation of the inception, design, construction, deployment, and management aspects of a solution.

Skills

Must have skills:
• Docker, Kubernetes, micro-service technologies
• JSON, YANG, XML
• Camunda & BPMN design
• Expertise in software development programming language including Python and Java
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals
• Experience with current development technologies, methodologies and workflows including CI/CD, Agile development (Scrum), Git, Gerrit, JIRA, and Jenkins, etc
• Experience in Linux or any equivalent UNIX flavors
• Motivated, goal oriented with a strong work ethics
• Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate on software development requirements and share innovative approaches and ideas
• Proven self-starter who can initiate tasks and follow up to completion to produce high quality results in a timely manner
• Strong verbal and written communication, as well as team collaboration skills combined with the willingness to learn

Good to have skills:
• Knowledge and familiarity in networking technologies: TCP, IPv4/IPv6, subnetting, IGP/BGP, L2VPN/L3VPN
• SDN, NFV, AWS, Azure, GCP
• Open-Source platforms (ONAP, OpenDaylight, EMCO, Nephio, Prometheus, Nagios, ELK stack, etc)

Minimum qualification & experience

• Technical/ Engineering degree with 7-12 years of relevant experience

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate in the design, implementation, and deployment of successful orchestration platform and various associated software applications to further support new services and features
• Understanding technical requirements and articulating a path to a solution
• Understand system interdependencies and limitations
• Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions
• Collaborate with other teams to implement features based on business rules and visual design
• Design, develop, and deploy efficient and reliable back-end logic for our applications
• Manage and optimize data exchange between backend systems, user-facing applications, and third-party systems
• Construct high-quality applications focusing on scalability and security
• Optimize the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues, ensuring high availability and performance
• Other duties as assigned

Technical Competencies

Profound understanding of software architecture principles
• Proficiency in backend languages (e.g. Python, TypeScript, go) as well as various web stacks, libraries, and frameworks
• Experienced with micro service development and dockerized application development
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing secure, high-performance public REST APIs
• Experienced with current development technologies, methodologies and workflows including CI/CD, Agile development (Scrum), Git and Jenkins, etc
• Contribution in standard organizations (MEF, ONF, TAPI, IEEE, etc)
• Linux, Kubernetes, OpenStack, ONAP, Java, Python, etc
• Switching, networking & routing certificates such as CCNA, CCNP and CCIE, etc
