Assistant Manager - (IP Networking)

Broad outline of the Role

Responsible for different aspects of engineering activities to provide differentiated services and solutions. These may also include product evaluation, solution designing and testing and roll out plan for existing and new services, including design of tools needed for operation of these new services and systems. This is an operational role, responsible for delivering results that have direct impact on day-to-day engineering operations in the respective areas of R&S for Service Provider or Enterprise business

Minimum qualification & experience

Relevant Experience : 5  to 7 Years.
Graduation degree : ·    B.TECH / M.TECH BE/ BS
Certifications : ·  CCNP R&S/SP must, CCIE Preferred.

Key Skill asks

• Experience on product lines like ASR9K.  Should have some basic understanding of ASR9k HW Architecture, pkt flow etc
• Essential Skills on Service provide network Integration/Implementation, escalation handling, BU & TAC 

Collaboration 

• Should have working experience in SP environment 
• Good knowledge and experience BGP, ISIS, IP/MPLS, VPN services, QoS, IPv6, is a must

Must Have skills

• Own the solution design and translate the customer requirements into technical tracks
• Extensive technical knowledge of at least two technology domains plus “one mile wide and one inch deep” knowledge of other technical, operational and SP architecture domains following a ‘T’ shape model 
• Participate in services presales activities, Statement Of Work scoping, review and creation, and position value of Cisco as part of a comprehensive outcome-based solution
• Conceptualize (Customer Requirements Document), plan (Implementation Strategy Plan), design (High Level Design) 
• Strong experience on Cisco’s ASR platform.
• CCIE technical certification preferred, or 2 of CCNP, DevNet Pro, CX Technology Blue Belt or similar technical certification or equivalent skills

Other knowledge/skills

Skill 1

• Extensive experience in Network Solution designing  

Skill 3

• Should be able to handle technical queries from senior team members of customer as well as Exec. Should be able to handle escalation situations, negotiations & communication to right stakeholders 
• A good communications & presentation skill is a must
• Skills and experience in leading a team of technical people with varying degree of experience.

Ability to work in 24*7 environment

Nexus 7K/5K/2K product lines will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Systems engineering for front-end processors, SP infrastructure, multiplexes, LAN/WAN communications, network nodes, switches, and various transmission systems.
• Ensure timely rollout of system enhancements, migration, deployment, and optimization projects.
• Involved in planning, architecture designing, developing, and testing solutions and service products riding on network or across multiple network layers.
• Involved in the development of systems including storage, load balancers, servers, and routers/switches.
• Manage physical connectivity, hardware and automation tools.
• Resolve issues based on escalations from the end user.
• Perform integration with existing systems and conduct service validation prior to hand over to Service Operations team.
• Direct the assurance team in adopting measures for fault rate and ticket rate reduction.
• Ensure engineering Projects completed within target dates within budget and agreed scope.
• Performance tuning and automation of application.
